Tonight was just a blast. Really, I had the time of my life tonight. The show went great. The lineup was insane. I mean, all the bands were tight, and playing their best.
The Birthday Massacre
They completely blew me away. The only stuff I ever heard was their old Imagica stuff (ie Horror Show), but this knocked me out. They were great. I had decided they "were like Evanescence.. only better.. and they're actually goth..." But I'll agree with Brent's idea that they sounded like a more electronic version of Lacuna Coil.
In the end I must say: adm_tbm, aslan_tbm, and "tbmchibi"?? You guys rocked!
Pimp
They keep getting better everytime I see them. They exploded within the first song. And Ugly was just insane. He played with a butcher knife. He cut himself up pretty good. I ran into him in the bathroom and I asked him if he really cut himself, and he said he did. Tho, after looking more closely at his face afterwards, I'm not so sure. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't and he was just pulling my leg. Either one I could expect from him. *L* But they were great.
Zer0scape
They were pretty good. My first time seeing them. At this point I wasn't really watching, cause we were starting to get our shit together. Plus I was getting really fucking nervous. But they were good.
Tallman
Our set went great. Here's what we played:
Livid
Transformers
Dirt Farmer
Cope
Innocent Dissident
A Darker Whole / Sinker
The Transformers theme didn't go over as well as we thought, but ah well. It's a good thing we didn't do our other surprise cover - Trogdor. Yes, we were going to cover Trogdor. I think it's a good thing we didn't.
As the set went on, I was getting really into it - like, really into it. And the best thing happend during the set..
my scream was coming back!
Not to it's fullest extent, but just enough. Once I did the screaming part in "Innocent..", I immediately became 10 times happier - cause then I knew I could do the stuff I wanted to do. Maybe being slightly drunk helped?? *L* During 'A Darker Whole', Richard brought Jay up for sing with us. It was a little awkward. I don't think the crowd was too impressed, but ah well. At least things went on without incident. We switched the end of ADW for Sinker, which made all the old Tallman fans really happy.
Overall, we kicked ass
The Hellz Kitchen Show
These guys were on the ball. Put on a great show, as usual. I talked to the singer, Paul, beforehand.. and he mentioned he actually really likes Stye! *L* He remembered us from Freedom Fest, and he liked it. I suggested doing a show with him, and he was all for it. I mentioned it again after their set, but I think he was really drunk by then - he kinda forgot who I was. *L* But I talked to him again later, and he remembered. *L*
--------------
Had a chat with all the bands, and the general opinion is that we should do this show again... and add Stye to the bill. Same lineup, with us, and kicking major ass. That would be fun.
After the show we packed up our shit and headed out. Unfortunately Rick and his girlfriend had some problems - but it's not my place to say anything about that in here. Said some saddening 'good job's and 'bye's, and I eventually made it home.
I've really had a great time working with these guys - it's been a blast. We're all sad it's come to an end. But they say I'm officially part of the gang, and I'm now "The New Richard" *L* They insist I can still come jam with them, and/or do a song with them when they play, so that's good. But I won't get my hopes up - they're going to be a busy bunch. If things happen, they happen.
Anyways.. I'm pretty much done for the night.
Bye!
